With the recent expansion of grain farming in the area Forth Ports wished to increase their grain drying capacity at Dundee Harbour.  They had identified two new large dryers and an existing dryer was to be scrapped as it was slow and beyond its serviceable life.  However four wet grain storage silos were to be retained.  DDM Services were engaged to provide design layout of the site, design of the lorry pit, positions of dryers, control room and all conveyors. The conveyor types, controls, valves and gates were specified by the client.  The challenge for DDM Services was to design and manage the layout lengths, gradients and bends.
